![]() ![]() a) since one normally waits for SD to load all the sound files of an SDX before you can use them reliably in real time, do i even really need to copy the SDX to my local HD to use them? sure the load times will be faster but i guess what i’m trying to get at is from a performance standpoint whether fast local live disk as recommended for most DAWs is meaningless once the SDX kit is loaded into memory which means i could run the SDX reliably from external HD and skip the local install to my new laptop since i’ve already maxed out the HD space. run on both systems without lengthy dvd reinstalls does that sound correct? i have three followups. then copy back the SDX from external hd to my new laptop hd 4. ![]() since i already have an initial install of SDX from DVD to my existing computer 2. ![]() like the original poster i don’t have an x DVD and don’t want to buy one or waste the time installing from DVD again to a new computer. I got a new laptop w/out an inegrated DVD player and i want to be able to use my SDX on both of them. I’m coming back to this thread a couple of months later to confirm the original response and ask a few followups. ![]()
